Overview page: Main capabilities



In the overview page of any object the user can:
§Identify the current object based on the work area title
§Edit the overview page by switching the assignment blocks into edit mode
§Create a new assignment, edit an existing assignment, delete an assignment, or trigger any other application-specific functionality
§Trigger functions related to an Assignment Block (AB) with the AB toolbar or the one-click actions (see following slides)
  


§Trigger functions related to the complete object with the work area toolbar
Create new object of same type, create follow up document, copy object, and so on (application-specific buttons)
§Personalize the overview page
Decide on the visibility of ABs
Decide on the sequence of the ABs (more important information at the top, for example)
§Print the overview page (with the browser print)
Additional capabilities
§General layout (in assignment blocks or the complete page) is configurable as per role

Capabilities:
§AB title – to identify the content of the AB
§Personalize icon and download to Excel (in table-based AB)  and Back to Top                                                                                            link:
The visibility / sequence of columns can be changed
Width of columns can be set
 
§Column headers
Can be used to sort and filter (via click)
Order can be changed via drag and drop
§One-click actions for fast and easy deletion or editing of an object
§Expand – appears if default number of visible rows is exceeded; opens up to 50, then it shows pages
§Lazy load – less important ABs are first shown closed; the content is displayed on request
 

Editing an assignment block


There are several alternatives for editing information in an AB possible. The alternative provided depends on the type of the AB (table or form) and the content displayed
1)Edit (Available for form-based AB only)
§Switches the form view to edit mode
2)Edit list (Available for table AB only)
§Switches complete list to edit mode allowing a change of existing or addition of new entries
3)One-click action: Edit (Optionally available for table AB)
§Switches only the corresponding table row into edit mode (as form view) on separate page
4)New
§Triggers the creation of a new entry in this assignment block
5)Add
§Allows to add an existing entry to the assignment block
